
Kate began her career as part of the inaugural Humber College Comedy Program. After graduating, she was nominated for a Phil Hartman Award. Kate holds an MFA in acting from York University, and has trained at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, Second City and The ProActors Lab. She is the co-founder and former artistic director of the Dora Mavor Moore Award-winning company, The Quickening Theatre. Kate’s work has been presented at The Toronto International Film Festival, Theatre Passe Muraille, Young People’s Theatre, The Vancouver East Cultural Centre, CBS, Lifetime Channel, Discovery and several film festivals across Europe and North America. You can watch her doing improv and sketch at Baddog Theatre, Social Capital Theatre, Second City and sometimes even at the Comedy Bar. As a teacher and coach, Kate has worked with several companies and schools including Brock University, York University, The Second City Training Centre, Young People’s Theatre, Prologue for The Arts, Shakespeare In Action, Workman Arts, University of Toronto Schools, 4-H Clubs of Saskatchewan, Parks and Recreation of Ontario and the Directors Cut.
